               Zestum is a Neuss-based start-up rethinking digital immersion by intro-ducing scent into gaming. Founded by students and backed by universities and public innovation programs, the team has developed a fully engineered scent hardware system from scratch, combining scientific precision with emotional impact.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly will I notice the scents – and do they mix over time?

The scents are based on oils stored in separate chambers of the Scentbar and are released in your direction by fans as needed. You’ll perceive the scent within 1–2 seconds, and it fades quickly as well. This way, we prevent the aromas from mixing in the room or creating an unpleasant “scent soup.”

Haven’t there been similar products before?

Yes, there have been. We thoroughly analyzed why those products failed on the market – and that’s exactly where we started to make it better. We specifically optimized weaknesses such as scent overlap, proper hardware control, and other issues.

Can I adjust the intensity myself?

Yes, you can customize the scent intensity according to your preferences. In the future, you’ll even be able to adjust the AI sensitivity to control when a certain scent should be released – so you can tailor your Scentbar to any game, even if our developers haven’t fully optimized the software for it yet.

What should I do when a scent runs out?

You can easily reorder complete scent palettes or individual scents from our website. Our tip: Stock up on the scents you use most often, so you won’t run out when you need them. We don’t want that to happen! ;)
